Cures For The Conference Hangover

Confession: It’s been eons and I don’t know what a true hangover feels like.

I imagine it feels like getting hit by a semi-truck.

Maybe a case of food poisoning or the flu?

Well, that’s how I felt like today.

Like I had a hangover.

But not because of the usual culprit.

I was at a conference at my church these past few nights.

And they were long nights.

But I still was determined to wake up early and start my day productively.

And I did.

But as the day progressed, I started feeling weird.

Almost like I was depressed.  hangover

And I got that sick feeling in my stomach.

Wait a minute, didn’t I just experience some awesome worship and teaching from God’s Word several nights in a row?

How soon did I forget.

I didn’t buy cheap ciprofloxacin forget.

I was coming down from all the excitement of the conference.

From being intensely focused in a high charged, learning environment.

Usually, I know that this is normal and it might take a few days to readjust.

So what are the “cures” for a conference hangover?

  • If you can, take extra time to rest the following day.
  • Drink a lot of water, alkaline if you can. (A great tip for everyday, conference or not)
  • Exercise.
  • Be forgiving of yourself.
  • Review any notes in a few days to give yourself time to process and see what you will implement.

Do you feel like you’re hungover after attending a conference? Do you feel you have to decompress before resuming your normal activities? I would love to get your feedback.
