Will The Real Tom Selleck Please Come Out?

When I lived in Hawaii, Magnum PI was a big deal.

I was especially proud because I could say that I lived where Magnum PI was filmed.Hawaii

Hawaii and Tom Selleck went together like rice and beans.

Okay, maybe not rice and beans but you get what I mean

I think I was around 10 or 11 years old when I got word of an episode being shot close to my neighborhood.

Being the star struck teeny bopper that I was at that time, I wanted to go and take in all the action.

I got to see the famous red Ferrari and cameras all around. All the excited groupies were anxiously awaiting the presence of Mr Magnum PI.

We were near the trailer and the man with the megaphone order cipro uk yelled out “Come out Mr. Selleck!”

Tom Selleck emerged from his trailer…or so we thought.

He was a body double!

I can’t stand false advertising. They told us that we would see the “real” Tom Selleck.”

And it wasn’t him.

Was I the only one disappointed?

This experience got me thinking about impersonators in the business and entertainment world.  And if we are being true to our authentic self.

At least in Las Vegas they tell you that these are not the real celebrities. You know what you’re getting.

What kind of impression do you make on others? Is what they see what they get? Do you feel pressure to be someone that you’re not? I would love to hear your feedback.
