#009: 5 Creative Business Lessons Learned from Martha Graham [Podcast]

Session Summary

  • Step to Success: Just as steps are necessary in a dance, there are steps to success in your life and business. In this segment, we discuss a step in the form of an app, a book, or a concept that will help you move forward. Today’s step is a platform called feedly that helps you save time on your favorite blogs and news sites.
  • The Dancers’ Dialect: Dance terminology as it relates to life and business. This week’s word is lateral shifts.
This means transfering our weight from side to side. The shifting of weight is important in all dance styles. It can mean the difference between a beautifully executed movement, like in a ballet pirouette, where the weight is properly distributed toward the first two metatarsals of your foot, you’re pulled up out of your hips, you’re at your maximum turn out,  you’re engaging your tramadol with no prescription back, you’re spotting with your head, and engaging your core.  If any one of these elements is missing, the pirouette is not as aesthetically pleasing and looks sloppy, so just as the proper placement of your weight for that pirouette is necessary, where your weight shifts to coming out of that pirouette is just as important.
  • Feature Presentation: We discuss 5 creative business lessons learned from the life of Martha Graham, and how easily you can apply these to your life and to your business.
