Two very wise thoughts communicated at a recent business meeting I attended.
This is part 3, the last part of a 3 part blog post on “10 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started My Business.”
And I actually have 2 more things so it won’t be 10 but 12. Lucky you 🙂
Before he became a pastor, he owned several successful businesses.
Here are the 10 things he passed along:
1.Watch your financials and your ratios.
2. Be more practical with how you approach God.
3. Live every business day as if you were going to have to survive an audit.
4. Write the exit strategy for when a partnership terminates.
5. Have better boundaries between business and family.

7. People don’t do what’s expected. Â They will do what’s inspected. Â Tell them what to do upfront.
8. You don’t have to be the best, you just have to be perceived as the best.

10. Spend more time dreaming what God has for me.
And the 2 bonus tips:
- Spend more time working on your communication skills.
- God likes us to find solutions to problems. Â God has the solution. Â Confronting bad news is not usually as bad as you think.
