Are You Busy But Bored?
Are there times when you feel like you are just going through the motions when it comes to business?
I am not unrealistic to think that every experience in the business world is going to be a bed of roses. Not much into roses anyway.
But at what point do you stop and evaluate if you need to change what you are doing?
At every point.
Let me explain.
In stumbling across some homeschool resources, there was talk about children losing or getting dull to their love learning, it led me to evaluate how we can get dull in business.
Coincidentally, I was on a call where a successful entrepreneur said that he was bored doing the same things over and over again in his business even though he was having success.
Kids getting bored, understood.
But a successful entrepreneur? I know it’s a reality but for whatever reason, I couldn’t comprehend it at that moment.
I was also listening to a podcast close to that time about a subject that I definitely did relate to.
And that was the depression or not so ideal tramadol online us feelings that accompany the winter months. The winter blues or the winter blahs.
This individual would always tell himself that he needed to leave during the winter and that he didn’t like the winter season.
That ended.
How?
He took a step back and analyzed what was causing these feelings of doom and gloom.
He decided that he would speak positively about the winter season and be intentional about enjoying it.
So what can we apply to our business so that we’re not just going through the motions?
- Go back to your why of business.
- Analyze what you could do differently. Maybe a change of scenery would help. Perhaps there are some tasks that you need to delegate.
- Take some breaks. Too much work can make you dull.
- Instead of focusing on your challenges, see how you can help someone else with their challenges.
- Be thankful that you have a business because there is always someone else who would love to be in your shoes.
