#029: An Effective Teacher Remains a Lifelong Student [Podcast]

Wendy Dow

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.  Sometimes that teacher lives inside of us.  In this session of The DancePreneuring Studio, Wendy Dow talks about how to enjoy your journey, and how she successfully transitioned from student to working with the LA Clippers.

Session Summary

  • Step to Success: Just as steps are necessary in a dance, there are steps to success in your life and business. In this segment, we discuss a step in the form of an app, a book, or a concept that will help you move forward.  Today’s step is a simple process of cleaning out your bookmarks on your browser to get rid of links that are no longer working, and information that is outdated.
  • The Dancers’ Dialect: Dance terminology as it relates to life and business.  This week’s term is groove. I was at a 3 day dance intensive almost a year ago and I will never forget what tWitch (from SYTYCD and more) tramadol online us pharmacy said in one of his classes, “Grooves before moves.”
  • Freestyle Flow: I share an important tip from a writing course that I just invested in and it’s this–Define who you are and what you want to be, state it with confidence, and then do the necessary actions to support that statement. My own personal example is that I needed to claim that I was a podcaster long before my podcast was even on iTunes as I was working on putting my sessions together.
  • Feature Presentation: My dance trainer Wendy Dow and I have a conversation about the importance of enjoying the journey as you are pursuing your goals and the lessons she’s learned from being a student to now teaching and choreographing.
